January 2022 : Setting the Tone for the rest of the Year!

Updated: Jan 5, 2022

We all get really excited at the thought of starting fresh! A clean slate, no hang-ups about past shortcomings, and all the joy for new accomplishments! How then, do we make sure that we don't fall into that statistic that says that we will probably be in the 50% group of people that lose our motivation by Mid-January?

Perspective

I truly believe that a major hack for staying on track with your fitness goals is to first and foremost, understand Fitness as a concept. We often think of fitness as a means to "cure" or "fix" something that is wrong in our bodies. While getting in shape and losing a few pounds can serve as a catalyst to get you started on your fitness journey, it shouldn't consume the path to a healthier, happier you! Think of fitness as a reward. On days you've had a long/stressful day at work, reward yourself with an hour at the gym! Sweat it out! You had a great day at work, keep the love going with a self-care session. Looking to curb your mood; move your body to release some endorphins. Work out because you love your body, not because you hate it. In the end, the gains will follow! Our Yogis on the Move classes are the best way to let someone else take the reigns for that hour and guide you through a wonderful and safe workout.

Knowledge

Knowing the different elements of fitness also helps in you knowing how to approach your specific goals and also helps you to feel confident in the process. The biggest threat to your consistency will be the lack of confidence in your workouts that come from the lack of knowledge.

FITNESS has 3 core elements. Strength, Cardio, and Restoration. Each of these go hand in hand in developing the best version of yourself physically. You should try and spend some time in each of those areas to achieve a well rounded fitness regimen. This month we plan on providing you the same quality on-site classes that you've come to know and love, plus more online content that will serve as educational Fitness/Wellness material that you'll be able to access from anywhere!

Accountability

It's really easy to cancel workout plans when you're working out alone. Make a friend the next time you come to class. Exchange numbers or Instagram handles. Make it a point to motivate each other to get up and get it done! We have seen that the most consistent members are those that come in groups/pairs and even make time to celebrate their accomplishments together outside of the fitness class.

We are excited that you're joining us on this Wellness Journey this year! Like we mentioned earlier, we will be bringing you more Fitness and Health content this year, and we will still be giving you glimpses into the people and places that make up YOGIS ON THE MOVE! After all, we are a business that values the power of Community first and foremost! Let's make this new Year a year for the Best You yet!
