Yogis on The Move believes in the healing power of yoga and the community it creates. Yoga is for everybody and we do not want the cost of classes to prohibit individuals from practicing in a safe, encouraging class environment. We believe that everyone belongs and has something to contribute. To support our beliefs we are launching a yoga program to the most vulnerable in our community through yoga classes at My Friend’s House LA Foundation.
Iyengar yoga promotes both physical and mental well-bieng. It emphasizes alignment, precision, and the correct form when doing the asana. It is a systematic approach that uses detailed instruction and props to help improve posture, strengthening muscles and bones.
Hatha yoga involves breath, body, and mind, and classes are usually 45 minutes to 90 minutes of breathing, yoga poses, and meditation.
Vinyasa is a style of yoga characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using breath. The variable nature of Vinyasa Yoga helps to develop a more balanced body as well as prevent repetitive motion injuries that can happen if you are always doing the same thing every day.
This dynamic, physically demanding practice synchronizes breath and movement to produce an internal heat designed to purify the body. Ashtanga yoga, with its many vinyasas, is great for building core strength and toning the body. You will definitely workout a sweat.
